Wednesday 2nd September 1914: Today the 1st Battalion, Bedfordshire
Regiment marched from Nanteuil to the vicinity of Vinantes, a march of nineteen
miles. They arrived about 6 pm and are billeted in an empty farmhouse,
previously owned by a Monsieur Paul Bourgeois. We understand they are
"quite comfortable".
