Dorset Regiment cap badge
Wednesday 8th December 1915: The adjutant of the 1st Battalion,
Bedfordshire Regiment reports that at two o’clock this morning bombing parties
from the 1st Battalion, Dorset Regiment, in the same brigade as the Bedfords
and on their flank in the front line, crept towards German trenches in a raid.
However, they found the barbed wire too thick to get through so they contended
themselves with throwing some bombs and scampering back again with a few slight
casualties.
