Yesterday 1st/5th
Battalion, Bedfordshire Regiment finally arrived in the front line at the town
of Rafa, captured from the Turks on 9th January by a mixed force comprising the
Imperial Camel Corps, the ANZAC Mounted Brigade and the 7th Light Car Patrol. The
adjutant tells us in a wire that they are expecting to go into action any day
now.
