Saturday 17th April 1915: It
seems as if final preparations are under way for an attack on Hill 60. Two
companies of the 1st Battalion, Bedfordshire regiment remain in the
front line, whilst the other two have been withdrawn into support to make way
for 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment and 2nd
Battalion King’s Own Scottish Borderers of 13th Brigade which will
be spearheading the attack. The Bedfords
will thus come under 13th Brigade command rather than 15th
Brigade. Word is that something may happen this evening.
