Tuesday 13th April 1915:
Readers will remember that we mentioned Hill 60, south-east of Ypres two days ago. The 1st Battalion, Bedfordshire
Regiment is working day and night reconnoitring old, disused French and German
trenches and opening up communication trenches and preparing dugouts. All this
is designed to allow additional units to flood into the area for an attack on
the hill. As this work is, no doubt, visible from Hill 60 itself the Germans
must be aware that an attack is coming.
