Monday 2nd April 1917 from
our correspondent in the field
Your
correspondent yesterday mentioned that warmer, drier weather is now here. To
confound his arrogance the adjutant of the 2nd Battalion, Bedfordshire
Regiment spoke with him earlier today and mentioned that the Battalion had just
lost 3-1 at football to 19th Battalion, King’s (Liverpool) Regiment at
Bailleulmont. The game was played in a heavy snow storm!
The 6th
Battalion are at a place called Estrée-Wamin, north of Doullens. The adjutant
related proudly that the Battalion had won the Brigade efficiency competition.
