1st/5th Bedfords at Gallipoli

Thursday 12^th August: we hear from the 1st/5th Battalion that they are bivouacked near Suvla Bay. They have received orders to make a night attack, 250 rounds to be carried and two days’ rations and water bottles filled. To attack so soon after landing will probably be welcomed by the men, who must want to dispense with the nerve-racking waiting and get on with their job.
