Day One Hundred and Twenty Five on the Somme

Lieutenant Turnbull

Thursday 2nd November 1916 From our Correspondent in the Field

The 4th Battalion, Bedfordshire Regiment, are near the front line opposite Beaumont-Hamel, nervously expecting to go into action for the first time. Their apprehension cannot have been improved by the fact that the adjutant, Captain B C R Loder has had to be evacuated to a Casualty Clearing Station. His successor as adjutant is Lieutenant W A Turnbull(1).
