Changes in Command

Tuesday 19th December 1916: From our Correspondent in the Field

The 4th Battalion, Bedfordshire Regiment is currently in billets at Nouvion-en-Ponthieu not far from the mouth of the River Somme. The adjutant tells me that today Temporary Lieutenant A J Clarke has been forced by sickness to proceed to the Field Ambulance and his place as commander of A Company has been taken by Lieutenant W H Barnett DSO. He had been commander of B Company and his post there has been taken by Temporary Lieutenant G F Wray.
