Quiet After All



Tuesday 10th July 1917

After the short spurt of violence yesterday today the front line at Hulluch has deserved its appellation as a quiet sector. The adjutant of the 8th Battalion, Bedfordshire Regiment tells me that the enemy has been quiet both day and night. He commented: “Our patrols had No Man's Land to themselves”.
