Lieutenant W White [X550/1/81]
Monday 27th March 1916: Sickness is running through the 2nd Battalion
at the moment. We heard yesterday how 25 men had gone sick last week. Today an
officer, Lieutenant W White(1) has also had to report sick. At the end of a long,
hard, snowy winter the men’s health is not likely to be at its best. Let us
hope for a warm, dry Spring for them
(1) He would be killed at Gird Trench on the Somme on 12th October 1916
