Monday 3rd May 1915:
The adjutant of the 1st Battalion has told us that every officer and man in the
unit has received mouth pads or bandages together with a solution of soda. This,
it is hoped, will in some respects negate the poisoned gas the enemy is using
in attacks such as that yesterday launched at Hill 60
