Sunday 5th December 1915: The adjutant of the 8th Battalion,
Bedfordshire Regiment, who are behind the lines at Poperinge, west of Ypres
reports very high winds yesterday. The Brigadier had just finished inspecting
their billets when the wind blew down a wall burying nine horses of the
Battalion’s transport, of whom three were killed.
